Although many expect the police to be the prime enforcement agency when wrongdoing is alleged, if you are in business then it is more likely that you will attract the attention of either your local council’s Environmental Health department, Planning Enforcement section, Trading Standards or Licensing Enforcement team. Other agencies, such as the Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency and Vehicle Operator Services Agency are just a few of the many other organisations which may oversee your commercial activities.
