We specialise in all aspects of alcohol and entertainment licensing. We also offer expertise in criminal and disciplinary cases, particularly those which are pursued by non-police agencies, such as local authorities, government departments and other public bodies.

Our many years of experience in acting for both prosecuting authorities and defendants means that we offer a uniquely objective view of any case. It also helps us understand how best to pursue particular matters in order to achieve the desired outcome for our clients.

So what makes us special?

Plain english. The law can seem like a foreign language, especially to those with little or no previous experience of it. We won’t talk to you as though you’re either a Latin scholar or a season ticket holder. Our clients often remark about how unlike lawyers we are when they speak to us.

Advocacy Expertise. Our advocacy team is headed by Richard Orridge, a dual qualified Solicitor-Advocate and non-practising Barrister. Our ‘one stop advocacy shop’ therefore allows continuity of representation and avoids the extra expense of having to separately instruct outside barristers for court hearings.

Flexible Fee Arrangements. We try to get away from the old-fashioned system of the hourly rate and the ticking meter whenever possible. We are happy to discuss fixed, capped or other fee arrangements where appropriate.

Free Advice and representation. Initial advice is always free. Whilst this may have to be limited in duration, it gives you an opportunity to see if you like us or whether we make any sense. Where we are contracted for high volume work then we will conduct a proportion of those cases for no fee at all.
